Two adjacent flats in a 1912 balcony-access building, joined into a single 180 m² home. The main constraint was the walkway: a typological element to be preserved, but also the only entrance and the only source of light on the courtyard side.

The plan was reorganised to bring living spaces to the courtyard front, where light is steadier, leaving bedrooms towards the street. The distribution corridor — typical of the type, and usually dark — was removed: rooms are crossed one into the next through aligned full-height doors, producing a continuous view from one end of the flat to the other.

Windows onto the walkway were replaced with thermally broken steel profiles, keeping the original subdivision. Venetian terrazzo floors, recoverable in three rooms, were ground and patched; elsewhere wide oak boards were laid.
